PEST MANAGEMENT REPORT NEWS ABOUT
INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT IN GLASSCOCK, REAGAN AND UPTON COUNTIES |
|||
|
GENERAL INFORMATION Someone told me a few days ago that my general situation has looked the same for about 8 years now and they already had it memorized so I think I will change it up this week. We have seen below normal rainfall 8 of the last 9 years now and just as I think it can not get drier it does. Cotton is progressing rapidly with even some of the heavier irrigated older cotton already cutting out. Insect activity is light. SCOUT SAFETY If you treat the field the scouts are checking and the re-entry interval has not expired, please let them know so they will not unnecessarily be exposed to the insecticides. BOLLWORMS Egg numbers ranged
from 0 - 5500 per acre or 0 - 10 per 100 plants. Small worms ranged
form 0 - 900 per acre or 0 - 2 per 100 plants. STINK BUGS Numbers remain below economic thresholds but do seem to be increasing slowly. |
Scouted fields averaged less than 1 per 10 row feet. PINK BOLLWORMS No
in-field infestations have been found in scouted fields but many are
Bollgard and should not have surviving Pinkies. BOLL WEEVILS No weevils were caught this week in area traps and no field activity found.

APHIDS Numbers are low but we do see an occasional colony on several plants in a spot. We did not see any flare up of aphids after fleahopper chemical treatments.
WEATHER DATA for the past week is not available.
